1st Tooth and Stood on Her Own - 8 1/2 mo

Whooeee! Mya had a monster day yesterday with the arrival of her first tooth and her first stand-alone. Her bottom right tooth emerged yesterday and I'm thinking we'll see some more right away but who knows? Then, after that exciting breakthrough (literally), Mya was standing up and leaning on my legs with the phone in her hand when she leaned back with her feet firmly and widely planted and stood on her own for at least 5 seconds. She only fell because I took the phone out of her hand. I know, mean Mommy, but she had put Craig on hold so I was trying to see if he was on hold or if she hung up on him. I wanted to tell him the big news!
I noticed after that one episode, she changed how she cruised around things. She pulled up at the change table later, ripping out its contents and she was switching hands around and letting go completely for the briefest of seconds. Oh no ... I think we have an early walker here and that is fantastic for her, but I have to admit it doesn't excite me so much. Walking early just seems like an invitation to weeks and months of bruises and bumps because she isn't steady on her feet. It's like learning to walk before you're supposed to KWIM? (know what I mean for those not in the know :)
