Fast on the heels of Grandma's departure from our guest room, I dismantled the whole thing and moved Mya's crib down. I guess I've been anxious to create a proper space for Mya for some time.
I started with just naps down there and then a couple days where I would put her to bed there, but bring her upstairs with me at the first feeding around 10 or midnight.
By the third or fourth night, I was ignoring her 10 pm fussing and she'd go back to sleep in less than 10 minutes. Night before last, she didn't even stir until 5 am! Her best night for ages, if ever.
Last night wasn't so great, but it wasn't so bad either. I think we are all going to like this new sleeping arrangement. Amazingly, Lucas hasn't made a peep in the midst of Mya's crying. I didn't expect that.
One thing that is very cool is to accumulate all of Mya's stuff in one room. For a year now, her things have been poked and prodded into all kinds of different places in the house. Now, she is fully her own little girl with her own little room. I haven't "done it up" just yet because she's still in her crib. Hopefully with her graduation to a big girl bed in future, we'll paint and decorate just to suit her. Not sure what her loves will be by then, but knowing Mya, they will be crystal clear.
