First Day of School

Monday, August 18, 2008 - Mya headed to Hope Presbyterian Playschool for the first time as a student. She eagerly entered Ms. Kristie's classroom (having been there many times before with Lucas) and played for an hour and half that first day. Tuesday was her first full day from 9 am to noon and again, dropping her off went well. She realized I was leaving and explained that she wanted to go down the hall with Lucas too, but she was easily drawn back to her own classroom and I am so pleased there wasn't a single tear.
Actually, there were tears, as reported by Ms. Kristie, but they had nothing to do with abandonment issues. They were more of the "I can't believe you won't let me stop for a drink at the water fountain" type. I think there will be a few more tantrums as Mya learns that she may not always get to do what she wants to do. Bless Ms. Kristie for her patience :) I am proud of Mya for beginning her days of learning. What a champ!
