Colic? Not quite

For a few days there, I thought Mya might be suffering with colic. She had some wild crying jags that turned her face bright red and made her choke she was crying so hard. But, I don't think it has been consistent enough to earn the title of colic yet. There's this definition that a baby must suffer from gassiness and upset for more than 3 hours per day, for more than 3 days a week, for more than 3 weeks. Mya hasn't suffered that much.
She does, however, suffer on occasion. Some days between the hours of 3 and 10 pm she can be inconsolable. Last night, she was a peaceful as anything, but Sunday night she was edgy and upset for most of the evening. The reason I don't think it's colic is the 3 hours per day part - her periods of upset never really get going these days and they last only about 10 or 20 minutes at one time and they only flare up a few times throughout the evening.
However, there is no question that she gets uncomfortable so I bought her some gripe water today to test that. I had been using gas drops which help, but they don't seem to really last very long. The gripe water of today doesn't contain alcohol like the olden days, but I think it's mighty effective. I gave Mya about 3/4 of one dose a bit ago and she dozed off in her bouncey chair almost instantly. Prior to that she had been squirming with discomfort and not able to burp or spit up. So far so good - gripe water might be the ticket.
