Can you believe it? I know that for most people, a discussion of potty habits is not all that scintillating, but my excitement surpasses my tact and I just have to share. Maybe someday I'll listen in on a parent's discussion of toilet training and roll my eyes too, but I doubt it, because the prospect of being done with diapers is a joy that I think will last.
As I've mentioned before, Mya has been interested in all things toilet for a long time. Finally, on the weekend, I decided to take her diaper off each time she sat on the potty. I think I sat her down about 7 times and she went pee FIVE TIMES!
I bought some pull ups and we tried them yesterday while we were at home and she continues to amaze. A little poopy, some more pee .... she is a wonder! After this morning's pee, she felt compelled to throw a little toilet paper in after, just like the big girls do.
If I'm feeling really brave, I might even pick up some big girl underwear for her to try. Of course, that's asking for some really big messes, but I think she's just the type of girl to be motivated by princess underwear.
Even if we don't move all the way to fully trained quickly, imagine the diapers we'll save! Assuming this is our last child (which I think it is) I could conceivably never have to change another diaper. Bliss.
